Held on 05/12/24 at A Bordo, Javea Port and attended by 75 members. This was the last of our 10 tastings for 2024, traditionally the President’s evening, hosted by Neville and Sara. CBWS Tasting held on 21/11/24 at Costa Marco and attended by 54 members and guests Helen and Paul Nicholls presented the first ever “Regional Grape Challenge Trophy”. An educational evening of fun, good wine and what turned out to be, an extremely interesting and enjoyable evening.  Blind tasting of five bottles of a single grape variety wine, from different regions of Spain. Members, working by table, were asked to first identify the grape variety by taste alone and what region of Spain it came from. TASTING REPORT SEPTEMBER 2024 – MONTESANCO TEULADA Our latest tasting was held on 19 September at the superb setting of Montesanco winery in Teulada, hosted by Neville and Sara Richardson. As part of our plan to vary the locations and types of events to which our members and guests are invited, this was a very different tasting. CBWS Tasting held on 15/2/24 at Javea Golf Club This month’s tasting was hosted by Neville and Sara Richardson. The wines were all from the Catalunya winery of Vinyes del Terrer and were presented by the winery owner Eduard Morell. The main vineyards are in the village of Vila-seca, 2 kilometres from the Mediterranean. The soil, called Lumaquela is unique to this area, being calcareous due to the abundance of marine fossils, carbonate and limestone, and gives the wines minerality.
