Our April tasting saw 45 members and 6 guests at the Republic Lounge Marina de Denia. This beautiful setting was complemented by a paired menu and hosted by Tasting Team members Gordon and Caryl Sellars. The wine selection accompanied some excellent food. A full report can be found by clicking here
Prior to the tasting we held an Extraordinary General Meeting of CBWS the purpose of which was to advise the membership that the fiscal address will now be changed to Impley International Lawyers, Avda Palmela 18, Local 6, 03730 Javea, Alicante. They will now hold this address and all official documents required by the Generalitat de Valencia. This change will be made as a modification to the statutes of The Costa Blanca Wine Society. In the past the official address has been that of previous presidents. A vote to agree this change resulted in all 45 members present voting in favour with no dissentions.
As you know we have a great new-look website which went live last month I hope all members will enjoy looking through the detailed content. You will see that there is a section on Wine Scores this year which enables you to see how the wines have been rated by members. Those of you who attended the last tasting can see how your scores compared to the wines we have tasted in the previous months. Next Tasting May 18 , 2023 – 7.30 pm
The next meeting will be held in the delightful setting of the MR Hotel, Les Rotes, Denia and is not to be missed.
Hosting the evening will be Paul and Helen Nicholls who initiated this tasting when they visited Bodega Marques de Riscal in Rioja last year. Contact has been made with them and they will be presenting some of their prestigious wines. IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT BOOKINGS
Congratulations to everyone who successfully booked on our new online booking system. Please remember DO NOT email or call Penny with your bookings but click on the link here or below. This will then take you to a page from where you can make your booking and, if applicable, bookings for any guests. You will also be asked to select a main course between the fish or meat options. Once you have completed the booking you will see a confirmation page requesting you to make your payment. In addition you will also receive an email with confirmation of your booking and payment instructions. This is now the only way you can reserve places.

Those of you wishing to reserve accommodation will receive a 15% discount when mentioning CBWS. Please book early as the hotel is always popular.
Please note that bookings, as always, will close at 12.00 noon on the Friday before the event which is Friday 12 May. After that time, the booking system will not accept further bookings.

June Meeting – June 15th, 2023
Our June meeting will take place at Restaurant Puerto Blanco, Calpe and will be hosted by Andrew & Kathy Johnson. The restaurant’s sommelier will be guiding us through a food-pairing tasting.
