Newsletter November 2024

Dear members

It’s been yet another busy month for CBWS, which has included;

     – our October ‘away trip’ to Yecla and Jumilla, enjoyed by 29 members. Thanks to Sandy and Tim, Shirley and John for organising a great event. (For details, click here.)

     – a very productive Tasting Team meeting. We have now substantially planned our 2025 programme of tasting meetings. (For details, click here.)

     – a continuation of our highly successful new member recruitment programme. We started the year with 110 members and now have 135, plus a further 8 in the process of joining. The Committee has decided to set a maximum on our number of members at 150, after which there will be a waiting list.

     – a superb monthly tasting at Les Rotes, led by Patrick Harrild on the theme of music and wine. 72 members and guests attended and were enthralled by the wonderful Spanish guitar playing of Miguel Diaz. (For details, click here.)

On 16 January, it is our Annual General Meeting at Nou Roma hotel in Denia, please try to attend. It will be followed by our first tasting of 2025, hosted by Sara and myself, featuring a selection of the highest scoring wines which we tasted in 2024.

Enjoy your month.
